We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef to bring in high energy to the fun atmosphere we provide to our guests. Daily Responsibilities Include:

• Follow all recipe, safety and sanitation standards
• Regulate production according to restaurant needs
• Communicate with line staff to keep productions stocked
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Enforce health safety and sanitation standards and procedures for food handling, cleanliness, and restaurant maintenance
• Execute recipes and create new authentic Cuban cuisine
• Lead consistence compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances
• Direct the hiring, supervision, development and when necessary, termination of employees.
• Work with the GM, Corporate and Executive Chefs to meet the varying needs of the restaurant

We Are Looking for Someone Who:

• Has a High School Diploma - Graduate of an accredited culinary program preferred
• Has a minimum of 2 years of experience in a high-volume restaurant (Peruvian/Cuban cuisine experience is preferred)
• Has a proven track record of producing quality food and controlling food and labor costs
• Can work in a fast-paced environment
• Possess a driver's license and your own reliable transportation
• Can stand and walk for long periods of time – 8-12 hours per shift
• Can lift 25-50 pounds
• Is available to work in Charlotte, NC and surrounding areas

Calle Sol has a casual atmosphere with lively music and even livelier food. The lunch and dinner menus focus on cuisine from Cuba to Peru but has touches from food all over Latin America, based on neighborhood dining spots in Tampa and Miami. Our chefs bring extensive knowledge from their training in Latin America and Miami. Expect pressed sandwiches and so much more. End your night at the rum bar and go home feeling like you’ve been on the beach all day.
