Job Description
The Space Circuit Card Value Stream Manager (VSM) will have responsibility for all day to day activities within the Space Electronics Manufacturing area. The VSM will have responsibility for a team of roughly 40 employees. Support functions within the department include about 15 Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Control, Stock Room and Test personnel. The VSM also has responsibility for 25 assembly personnel across 1st and 2nd shift, with a supervisor per shift. Processes within the manufacturing area consist of but are not limited to Surface Mount equipment (paste, pick and place, reflow, AOI), Conformal Coat, Wash, Depanel, Airvac, and Test.

The VSM is responsible for execution of meeting safety, cost, quality and schedule targets. The ideal candidate will foster an environment of continuous improvement and customer satisfaction and leading the team to strive for excellence in all that they do. The VSM will also be responsible for providing sales and labor estimates for quarterly business planning. The VSM will work closely with the THAAD focused Quality Assurance group to support our on-site customers, direct customer and continuous improvement efforts. The direct customer is BAE Nashua who takes the CCAs and builds them up into the Seeker. This position requires significant interface with BAE Nashua on delivery, quality and material related needs. As well as working along side them for change management and continuous improvement implementation.

The mission statement for the space electronics manufacturing department is Built To Launch, Ensuring Mission Success. The VSM will lead the team to ensure that mission is accomplished.

Moreover, the VSM drives the long-range strategic planning process for operations by overseeing and managing aspects of engineering, manufacturing, program management, production control, and supply chain management. Defines goals, improves technologies, and resolves problems in conjunction with managers of engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain. Develops operations-related plans, budgets, and policies and procedures. Maintains safety and regulatory compliance relating to the production facility.

Responsibilities may shift with business needs and will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Utilizes capacity analysis to establish methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
• Develops operations-related plans, budgets, and policies and procedures.
• Maintains safety and regulatory compliance relating to the production facility.
• Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel.
• Utilize all the tools available to drive a Zero Defect culture throughout the team (Root Cause Corrective Action, Corrective Action Review Board, Preventative Action Review Board, Kaizen Events and Projects for Green and Black Belts).

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• BS in Business Administration, or Engineering, or equivalent 10 years of working experience.
• Familiarity with Circuit Card manufacturing processes
• Ability to lead in a cross-functional team environment, with a customer-focused approach, and an aptitude for continuous improvement in serving internal and external customers
• Familiarity with AS9100 quality systems and DoD manufacturing and test standards.
• Strong diplomatic, communication, presentation and negotiation skills
• Ability to execute and deliver on tactical objectives

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Master’s Degree and Circuit Card manufacturing experience
• Self-motivated, independent, and capable of leading a medium sized technical and manufacturing team
