We are working to redevelop our special education model at Windham Southwest Supervisory Union (WSWSU). Our redevelopment goals include: Aligning our model with a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) including social emotional learning Creating a dedicated assessment team for initial and triennial evaluationsPromoting inclusive practicesIncreasing our capacity and capability to better serve students within the WSWSUIf you are interested in being an agent of change and part of our WSWSU team responsible for redesigning our system, please consider applying to any of the following positions that align with your knowledge and experience: Learning Specialists (Licensed special educators who provide direct instruction, consultation and support within schools)Case Managers (Licensed special educators who manage the compliance requirements of state and federal rules and regulations, as well as schedule and facilitate IEP meetings)Occupational Therapist (Assessment and/or direct services)Physical Therapist (Assessment and/or direct servicesSpeech-Language Pathologists (Assessments and/or direct services)CASE MANAGER DUTIES Coordinates the provision of special education services per the students IEPs, including specially designed instruction and provision of all related service needsOwns scheduling and holding IEP meetings in a timely mannerWork closely with school psychologists and other related service providers to ensure assessments are completed in a timely mannerResponds to concerns and works with parents and school staff to resolve disputes regarding special education services; maintain ongoing communication with parents, school staff, and the community.Collects and analyzes data through the use of technology; prepares reports and data related to compliance and monitors the progress of students; ensures that the IEPS are implemented correctly and that goals and objectives are updated as requiredDevelop, monitor, and report on goals; determine needs, design interventions utilizing research-based best practiceFacilitate IEP meetings and other meetings as neededOther duties as assigned by supervisor
