Speech and Language Therapy Position (Staff Grade or Senior) With EPT Clinic, Kilkenny

The EPT Clinic is a dynamic, family – systemic, best-practice, inter-disciplinary private child and family health service based in Kilkenny, Ireland. EPT Clinic works in partnership with the UCD, the HSE, Tusla, and Barnardos. The Clinic aim to support the wellbeing, development, and learning of children aged 0-18 and their families.

EPT offer psychology, speech and language therapy and occupational therapy in the form of interdisciplinary assessments and interventions through family centred practice.

Due to continued growth, and developing partnerships with the HSE, Tusla, and UCD, EPT Clinic is seeking to recruit a Speech and Language Therapist to join the team. This role is ideally permanent/ full time. The pay grade will reflect the candidate’s level of experience informed by HSE payscales.

  • Organises workload in a team environment to include the scheduling and carrying out of assessments, interventions, and administration as part of a caseload management process.
  • Endeavours to maintain a very high standard of report writing.
  • Demonstrates excellent clinical skills in assessment intervention and diagnostics to meet the specific client needs.
  • Demonstrates an ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Collaborates with the child / young person while working in partnership with their parent/family/carer and all other relevant stakeholders to identify and achieve goals.
  • Demonstrates a supportive and reciprocating work style including strong empathy with the child / young person and their parent/family/carer.
  • Participates in CPD training as identified and agreed.

Essential Criteria:

  • A recognised validated University Degree or Masters or an equivalent qualification in Speech & Language Therapy.
  • Registered with CORU National Speech & Language Therapists Registration Board.
  • Experience of working with children.
  • Experience with autism.
  • Be eligible to work in Ireland.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Postgraduate experience working with children with disabilities and complex needs (Preferably 1-2 years’ experience).
  • Experience of the HSE assessment of need process. • Experience of conducting Team Diagnostic Assessments.
  • Experience with and an interest in mental health.
  • ADOS training.
  • Any relevant post graduate training specific to child disability services. e.g., Hanen, Lámh, PECS.

This is a permanent position, and a probationary period applies. Salary is informed by HSE payscales.
