Responsibilities:

• Evaluate students' communication disorders and make thoughtful recommendations
• Develop and implement individualized education program (IEP) goals
• Consult with staff and parents to support each student's communication needs
• Work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Assess the efficacy of augmentative communication systems in supporting meaningful interactions and encouraging independence

Qualifications:

• Hold a Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology or Communication Disorders
• ASHA CCC or CF eligible
• NYS licensure in Speech-Language Pathology or will be eligible following completion of a CFY
• Hold certification for TSSLD (Certificate for Teaching Students with Speech-Language Disabilities) or will be in pursuit of their TSSLD or TSHH (Certificate for Teaching of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped)

At Pathfinder School, you will gain valuable skills on the journey to becoming a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. Under the supervision of an ASHA-certified and State-license SLP, Clinical Fellows will screen, diagnose and provide treatment to children ages 5 to 21 with communication delays. After the successful completion of the fellowship, you will receive your ASHA CCCs and your New York State License.
