Job Summary:
Sr. Continuous Improvement Specialist is responsible for driving sustainable continuous improvements in the facility by delivering breakthrough results in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Morale. The Sr. Continuous Improvement Specialist works closely with the CI Manager, Plant Leadership and hourly employees to achieve results. This position requires strong technical Lean Manufacturing and hands-on leadership skills.

Job Duties:
Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Leads and facilitates Point and full week Kaizen events to drive sustainable improvements
  • Coaches Point Kaizen Facilitators
  • Works closely with Plant CI team and CI Champions to:
o Develop and execute improvement action plans

o Executes the Scrap team throughout the facility

o Executes and improves various heatmaps to drive improvement within the facility

o Build an employee engaged work environment

o Provide and teach CI tools to CI and Non-CI employees

  • Assists in establishing productivity pipeline roadmaps across departments and facility
  • Partner with Operation to drive cost saving initiatives
  • Understands and utilizes SAP tools to drive plant improvement
  • Responsible for managing multiple projects at the same time
  • Facilitate and coach RCA and CAPA
  • Ensure the facility implements and maintains Continuous Improvement initiatives within the facility
  • CI Manager backup
Required Competencies & Knowledge:
Knowledge of:
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP
Skill in:
  • A application knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing techniques and related CI tools are required: Root Cause Analysis, Kaizen, First Hour Full Power, 5S, 8Wastes, Changeovers, Six Sigma, etc
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong self-confidence.
  • Strong will to drive change, bias for action, and influence without authority
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work with autonomy.
  • Must be accurate, detail-oriented and maintain the utmost confidentiality.
Ability to:
  • Ability to effectively present information to employees, top management, public groups.
  • Ability to calculate figures Communicate in English to give and acknowledge instructions/problems.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in various units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and/or schedule form.
  • Ability to work well with others in stressful situations and meet deadlines as necessary.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks.
  • Excellent keyboarding, record keeping and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, while at the same time making sound decisions.
  • Must have a strong will to drive change and sustain.
Proficiency in: MS Office Suite, Excel, SAP (preferred) and PP

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to use and reach throughout the day; hands, fingers, arms, stand, walk, climb and/or balance approximately.

  • Ability to work across multiple shifts
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university preferred
  • Two (2) or more years in a manufacturing environment
  • One (1) to three (3) years of CI experience
