Overview:

The DevOps team is responsible for the tooling and automation underlying the Care.com cloud infrastructure, along with the CI/CD pipeline, monitoring, support, and management of services and applications. This role is focused on the operation, improvement, and maintenance of those environments and the systems supporting them.

Senior level engineers are expected to spend time training and mentoring other members of the organization, both inside and outside the DevOps team itself. They are also expected to take ownership of the execution and completion of larger projects and the ongoing operation and overall responsibility for critical systems.

Specific Duties/Responsibilities

• Responsible for monitoring, alerting, incident management, and on-call rotation.

• Writing Ansible playbooks to support Care.com infrastructure.

• Writing and extending Terraform configurations to support Care.com infrastructure.

• Writing and maintaining documentation around areas of expertise.

Skills/Experience Requirements

• 4+ years' experience working with Infrastructure as Code and/or configuration management tools, receiving and providing code reviews (Ansible, Terraform, and Cloud Formation).

• 4+ years' experience in scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.)

• 4+ years' experience in the Linux environment.

• Experience managing log aggregation tools, such as Splunk Cloud and Splunk Observability is a plus.

• Experience with Go programming is a plus.

• Strong written communication skills and comfort with chat tools (e.g., Slack) as a primary means of communication.

Education/Other Prerequisites:

BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Salary Range: 125K to 145K. The base salary range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the national salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Care.com's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and short- and long-term incentives.
