Role Summary
The Sr Financial Analyst Global External Supply (GES) will report to the Senior Finance Manager GES and help supporting the Global GES Organization. He/She will work on Month-end-close activities and assist in preparation of operating budget, forecasts and review of actual performance and variances.
The incumbent will also work closely with other GES Finance colleagues to ensure alignment, consistency, and continuity. The candidate will be involved in system close and maintenance activities in coordination with the Belgium Accounting team and costing activities in the system in close collaboration with the Pricing Team.
The Sr Financial analyst will be supporting the implementation of policies and procedures, financial compliance and audits and assist in driving continuous improvement to achieve GMS (Global Manufacturing & Supply) financial goals.
Role Responsibilities
- Perform Month-end-close activities, analysis of actual financial results and variances versus Forecast and Budget, draft management reports as appropriate
- Ensure accuracy and consolidate all financial inputs required for budgets and forecasts; assist in finalizing and presenting the budget and forecast to Senior Management.
- Develop and communicate Standard Cost in a timely and accurate way; ensure all relevant information is maintained in the relevant Systems.
- Identify potential issues and propose corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures and assist with audits.
- Work closely with GES operations (Demand Planners and Category Managers) to align on deliverables and provide financial training/guidance as required
- Support SOX compliance efforts
- Provide backup for other Finance GES colleagues
- Drive continuous improvement, automation and standardization of processes, templates, and tools
- Ensure timely resolution to any open financial matters.
Candidate Requirements
Education & Experience
- Minimum Bachelors Degree with major in finance or accounting.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Financial Process/Cost accounting/Controlling.
- Good understanding of overall accounting, financial systems, and processes.
- Experience with finance in manufacturing site is an advantage.
- Experience in the Pharmaceutical industry is considered an asset.
- Exposure to SAP will be an advantage.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Excel is a must
- Knowledge of SOX / Internal controls and requirements
Technical Skill Requirements
- Advanced user of Microsoft Excel
- Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A result driven and pro-active personality who can work independently and manage his responsibilities
- Ability to prioritize workload and adhere to deadlines.
- A customer focused individual that enjoys resolving issues and provide understanding.
- Understanding of ERP /Financial Systems
- Power BI a plus
