Overview

The incumbent position is responsible for generating and manipulating graphic images, animations, sound, text and video into consolidated and seamless multimedia programs. Conceptualize and execute ideas. Use knowledge of current graphic design software to produce graphic art and visual materials for Promotions, Advertising & Marketing which support the overall marketing strategy, goals and objectives for Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain. Remain abreast of technological advances in the field and be able to identify areas of use in the organization. Work directly with Marketing on a daily basis to provide support, direction, and design for ongoing and special projects. Report directly to Advertising Manager and work under his/her supervision. A great deal of creativity and latitude is expected. Work with multiple departments while also being an independent contributor.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members to provide superior guest service.
  • Ideal candidate is an energetic, self-starter who thinks strategically and creatively with the ability to handle multiple tasks with efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Creates, contributes to, and coordinates the development and design of marketing materials.
  • Designs media in a wide variety of styles that correspond to the company needs.
  • Designs and produces art and copy layouts for visual communications media, includes (but is not limited to): collateral, branding, identity, packaging, retail scape and large format graphics.
  • Manages intellectual assets (trademarks, copyrights, etc.), model releases, stock image, and usage rights.
  • Responsible for ensuring projects are executed in a timely manner and are on schedule, obtain the necessary approvals, and reflect company quality and graphic standards.
  • Manages Hard Rock image usage/transfers, logo usage/transfers.
  • Ensures compliance of quality output and graphic standards for all materials.
  • Works collaboratively to support development and implementation of the Marketing plans to ensure maximum brand exposure and market penetration for Hard Rock Sacramento at Fire Mountain.
  • Work with team members to identify department equipment and software needs and submits recommendations to Advertising Manager and Chief Marketing Officer.
  • Develops designs that are on strategy and reflect brand’s personality.
  • Oversight of pre-press to ensure quality and accuracy for all agency production.
  • Manages design & collateral inventory. Maintains a current asset database.
  • Attend and participate in off property functions and events as assigned.
  • Participates in department meetings as needed.
  • Perform work regularly and reliably.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education And /Or Experience Requirements

(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)

BFA in Graphic Design or Advertising. Five plus years of experience required in Graphic Design and Advertising Industry. Strong design background and portfolio that presents a variety of digital, print, and presentation materials. Previous experience working in Advertising or the gaming industry a plus. Experience with branding/brand systems. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of Marketing/Advertising with Casino or Gaming experienced preferred.

Additional Requirements (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, Etc)

  • Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
  • Must successfully pass background check.
  • Must successfully pass drug screening.
  • Prior experience in the Gaming industry strongly preferred.
  • Must be at least twenty one (21) years of age.

Knowledge Of

  • Proficient in InDesign, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. PowerPoint and Keynote a plus.
  • Strong professional relations skills, ability to collaborate and effectively perform within cross functional team environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, copywriting, editing and proofing with attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively apply broad, in-depth, and up-to-date knowledge of pertinent marketing trends.
  • Proficient in MS Office, InDesign, & other relevant Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
  • Strong relationship building and collaborative skills with diverse audiences and cross-functional teams.

  • This position spends time on the casino floor and is subject to varying levels of crowds and noise, and the severity of which depends upon guest volume.
