Job Role- Sr. Manager, Manufacturing Engineering

Job Description

· Execute manufacturing objectives and strategies that meet schedule, cost, and quality requirements.

· Identify and improve current manufacturing processes reducing labor touch and equipment processing time.

· Drive Lean/Quality initiatives within the Manufacturing base (labor and equipment)

· Develop a world-class operations team through staffing, training, and talent management initiatives while serving as a role model for integrity, inclusion, and diversity.

· Agent of change and proactive in implementing new processes to improve the Manufacturing Engineering organization.

· Collaborates with Design Engineering to review and evaluate New Product Development (NPD) drawings, drive new designs toward optimized production processes which ensure the producibility of the hardware, engage with Suppliers early in the Design process.

· Generate manufacturing assembly documentation and provide direct support of personnel in the day-to-day execution of the manufacturing, inspection and test operations

· Demonstrated ability to determine root cause and execute corrective actions of manufacturing process problems, workmanship defects, test failures, etc.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's Degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or industrial engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 12 years DoD, Space, or Avionics manufacturing environment experience, OR Graduate Degree with a minimum of 9 years of prior related experience

· Experience in Lean Manufacturing principles; mistake proofing, 3P, 5S+1, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Root Cause Analysis, Gemba, Pull-Flow, etc.

· Experience in leading a cross functional team and previous management experience

Additional Preferred Skills:

· Demonstrated experience in Lean principles with Black Belt or Green Belt certification.

· Significant Experience in productivity improvements, including cost, cycle time, and inventory reductions.

· Aerospace & Defense electronics experience, mixed model factory experience a plus

· Experience working in a matrixed organization with the ability to develop and build a high performing organization.

· Understanding of defense contracting (US FARs, DFARs, etc.) and experience in developing proposals for Prime and US government customers

· Experience communicating at all levels of the organization and leading cross functional teams.

· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

· Effective written, communication, and presentation skills
