To this end, we are posting for a strong Sr. Manager of Supply Planning (ERP Design Leader). This opportunity will be based in our corporate headquarters in Needham, MA with occasional visits to the manufacturing plant in Norwood, MA and warehouse in Norton, MA. The role will follow our hybrid work model: three days working onsite and two remote working days.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?

You will be creating a first class E2E supply chain from within Home Market Foods servicing the largest retailers in the world. You will have the unique opportunity to establish completely new, best practice processes and systems to support the exploding growth of HMF unencumbered by legacy systems. You will be the integrating force between sales, finance, warehouse, sourcing, and production to establish demand and supply planning processes and systems. You will be the primary person responsible for designing and testing the processes as the supply planning leader of our new Tier 1 ERP, Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations. After go-live in early 2024, you will be the subject matter expert in this area and will transition to the supply chain organization to run the business using the systems and processes you have just implemented.

OVERVIEW OF ROLE:

The Sr. Manager of Supply Planning (ERP Design Leader) will have the unique opportunity to architect Home Market Foods planning process from scratch using Microsoft's Dynamics 365 software. This will include demand forecasting through master planning (net requirements planning) and production scheduling. The first year of this role will be full-time as a member of the cross-functional ERP implementation team. Training will be provided on the software which the Sr. Manager of Supply Planning along with our consultants and IT Organization will implement to meet Home Market Foods requirements. After the system goes live, this role will transition into the supply chain organization as the Sr. Manager of Supply Planning executing the newly developed processes to operate the business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive a successful implementation of Demand Forecasting, Master Planning and Production Scheduling within the ERP, Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Shape and execute upon the vision, interests, and objectives of the supply chain organization
  • Act as a change agent & engagement leader for supply chain driving unified consensus by working with your project and supply chain team.
  • Lead and manage the end-to-end design sessions, perform functional testing and deployment activities as defined within the set of project deliverables.
  • Collaborate with the Implementation project team to develop and validate the project scope, risks, issues, and business requirements
  • Define, assess, and manage data activities to ensure clean and accurate data is available
  • Develop, modify, and validate training material and work with change management team to plan and execute end user training program.

After the ERP implementation, transition to an operational role in the supply chain organization to execute the processes implemented:

  • Work closely with colleagues within operations and cross-functionally to ensure production is adequately scheduled and materials prepared to meet production timelines.
  • Maintain a high level of communication with stakeholders across all teams.
  • Work closely with production scheduling team to meet demand requirements.
  • Confirm delivery dates on orders based on production capacity requirements planning
  • Ensure translation of master schedule into material requirements.
  • Support the supply chain in demand management and supply planning.
  • Gather and analyze data for metrics and KPIs for the plant.
  • Identify process improvements that will reduce production cost and improve schedule performance.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain tools as well as techniques required to evaluate impact of proposed schedule changes.
  • Supervise and report actual results against production schedule.
  • Prepare and manage master materials schedule. Plan, schedule, as well as coordinate materials availability to support production timelines.
  • Develop and execute inventory control methods and reports to assure accurate inventory levels.
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain, business or related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in supply chain management, specifically in the functions of supply planning, inventory management, and/or procurement. Experience in planning/scheduling in a production environment is a plus. Experience in food manufacturing preferred.
  • Extensive experience with a tier 1 ERP planning system required, Microsoft Dynamics Preferred
