JOB SUMMARY

Option to work a 4-10 schedule. Time and a half will be available for now. Must know AutoCAD, Solidworks, AutoCAD Plant 3D and Navisworks.

Experience in PDMS or AVEVA E3D would be a plus but not necessary.

This position is responsible for planning and preparing a full range of piping contract documents including problem analysis, piping design layout, equipment layout, isometrics and P&ID’s. Must be able to complete piping design and layout of complex systems and equipment orientations, apply safety in design principles, and apply good judgment and experience. Must be able to understand and implement project deliverables and schedule requirements. Must have previous experience and working knowledge of 3D design tools. This position will also be expected to perform field design in an operating plant.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES

• Create 3D Piping Models of piping systems
• Perform field work/sketches for design
• Creation of Plot Plans and General Arrangement (GA)

drawings.

• Creation of Isometric and pipe support drawings as well as

Orthographic piping drawings.

• Creation/Modification of P&ID’s and PFD’s
• Checks drawings according to design standards manual and

checking procedures.

• Generating BOM’s, Line Lists, Equipment Lists, Tie-Point

Lists, Hang TP tags in field

• Create Construction Bid Packages w/required deliverables

(per project)

• Conduct/lead model reviews with Navisworks
• Do As-Builts as needed
• Develop, train and assist lower level designers when/if

required.

• Do own weekly timesheets and track/account for project hours.
• General understanding of industry design standards.
• Must be able to perform work with minimal supervision.
• Have communication and leadership skills to be able to work one on one with design lead, project manager/engineer and other office personnel.
• Ability to produce all design drawings from rough

sketches, notes, vendor drawings or general directions from

others. Ability to complete total project design.

Understanding of all aspects of typical piping specifications

and materials used in industrial facilities.

• Thorough knowledge of drafting and design standards and

techniques in the area of piping, and mechanical drafting.

Should have solid understanding of ANSI/ASME B31.3

piping codes.

• Must be able to complete work in a timely manner
• Thorough understanding of documentation and document

control procedures.

• Execute MOC's
• Must be computer savvy with MS Office and have strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Will be a great asset if designer has drafting/design experience in other disciplines…like Civil/Structural, Instrumentation and Electrical.

Software experience required: AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Solidworks, Navisworks, MOCs, 3D Modeling
