MTY Franchising USA is looking for a Staff Accountant who will report to the Director of Accounting - US. Headquartered in Montreal and founded over 40 years ago – MTY is a global franchisee network of over 85 brands and over 7,000 locations. Familiar US brands include Cold Stone Creamery, Papa Murphy’s, Baja Fresh, Wetzel’s Pretzels, Famous Dave’s BBQ, among many more.
The US accounting team has over 35 employees who work in offices situated across the US, primarily in Scottsdale, AZ, Minnetonka, MN and Vancouver, WA. MTY is known for its entrepreneurial spirit which was built on the principles of excellence, dedication, and innovation.
Position Overview
You are an individual who is a go getter and are comfortable with ambiguity and change. You are looking for an operational accounting role. You enjoy collaborating with a team, providing optimal customer service while working in an environment that supports continuous improvement and learning. Solving accounting puzzles is a nerdy passion of yours while deadlines add a layer of excitement. Sound like you?
Responsibilities:
- Handles multiple high volume bank reconciliations with different banks and interfaces
- Completes month end transactional journal entry preparation
- Conducts monthly reconciliation and analysis of various balance sheet transactional sections
- Additional projects as needed
Hard skills:
- Ability to manipulate large amounts of transactional data
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups
- High attention to detail and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Customer service orientated
- 5+ years accounting preferred
- Prior experience with Great Plains or Sage 300 is preferred
- Candidates may reside near Scottsdale, AZ, Minnetonka, MN or Vancouver, WA
