Associate Transit Management Analyst: $81,994 - $106,164 (TA)
Assistant Transit Management Analyst II: $72,534 - $80,784 (TA)
Assistant Transit Management Analyst I: $62,471 - $73,956 (TA)
Associate Staff Analyst: $77,356 - $100,155 (TA)
Staff Analyst II: $68,430 - $76,213 (TA)
Staff Analyst I: $58,934 - $69,771 (TA)
Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will provide support to the Senior Vice President's (SVP) office and/or the Chief of Staff with the handling of executive and confidential correspondences, dissemination of information and other documentation related to the daily operations of the Department of Subways. The responsibilities will include but not limited to calendar management and travel coordination; coordinating the production of reports, as well as collating and organizing responses for distribution throughout New York City Transit. The candidate will also be required to utilize tracking databases to monitor the submittal of documentation (correspondence) from the divisions, ensuring due dates are met. Coordinate responses for the Customer Relations Management system which includes assigning incidents, preparing responses for approval and closing out incidents. The candidate will perform analytical functions which include researching and analyzing data; manage the status of projects and coordinate with executives across the agency to provide updates and timely submission of information. Develop and recommend procedural or process improvements.
Education and Experience:
Associate Transit Management Analyst:
- A master's degree from an accredited college in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, and two (2) years of full-time satisfactory professional experience in the collection, evaluation and use of data relating to operational procedures, administrative systems, equipment and space utilization, and staffing requirements, including the preparation of charts, graphs, drawings and technical reports. One (1) year of experience must have been in the transportation industry; or
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in one of the areas listed in "1" above; and three (3) years of full-time satisfactory experience as described in "1" above. One (1) year of this experience must have been in the transportation industry.
Assistant Transit Management Analyst I & Assistant Transit Management Analyst II:
- A master's degree from an accredited college in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, and one (1) year of satisfactory full-time professional experience in the collection, evaluation and use of data relating to operational procedures, administrative systems, equipment and space utilization, and staffing requirements, including the preparation of charts, graphs, drawings and technical reports; or
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in one of the areas listed in "1" above; and two (2) years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in "1" above.
Associate Staff Analyst (Must be permanent in the title or reachable on an active civil service exam list)
- A Master’s degree from an accredited college with a major in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies or a closely related field, and ONE(1) year of satisfactory full-time professional experience in one or a combination of the following: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, fiscal management or in a related field; OR
- A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and THREE (3) years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in the areas described in 1 above.
Staff Analyst I & Staff Analyst II (Must be permanent in the title or reachable on an active civil service exam list)
- A Master’s degree from an accredited college with a major in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies or a closely related field; OR
- A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and TWO (2) years of satisfactory full-time professional experience working in one or a combination of the following areas: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, labor relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, fiscal management or in a related area.
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of NYCT Department of Subways.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Access, Word, Excel; PowerPoint and Teams)
- Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills.
