Staff Nurse - Intensive Care Unit

There are currently permanent whole-time vacancies available in, Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore.
A panel will be formed as a result of this campaign for Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.

Purpose of the Post
The Staff Nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to the highest professional and ethical standards within the model of nursing care practiced in the Intensive Care Unit. The staff nurse will provide holistic, person centred care, promoting optimum independence and enhancing the quality of life for service users.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:
1.Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc
- Be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses maintained by An Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) or be entitled to be so registered
and
- Have the clinical and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role
and
- Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development at the appropriate level.
and
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
2. Annual registration
(i) On appointment, practitioners must maintain live annual registration on the General Division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann).
And
(ii)Practitioners must confirm annual registration with the NMBI to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
3. Health
A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
4. Character
Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character

Post Specific Requirements
Have a minimum of 18 months recent post registration experience in ICU in the acute care sector.
