Job Summary:

As a Store Manager, you work directly (but not exclusively) with your Lead Baristas, the other Store Managers, and the Retail Director to help the company reach its objectives.

The best candidate should possess savvy business skills and be a HIGHLY motivated professional, with a proven ability to establish excellent working relationships within your team and with other management.

Managers must be flexible to work all shifts as needed. Shifts may include opening hours (6 am to 2/4 pm), mid-shift (8 am to 4 pm), or closing (10 am to 6 pm). Your Work schedule will be 40 hours a week MINIMUM, 5 days a week.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following):

Store Operations and Leadership:

  • Displays and encourages Customer First Attitude
  • Remains Calm in complicated and stressful situations
  • Drives Implementation of company programs, systems, and processes
  • Manages with integrity, honesty, and knowledge of Choc O Pain culture
  • Manage communication between our Retail Team and Retail Director
  • Talent Acquisition/Dismissal
  • Plan, identify, and delegate responsibilities to Lead Barista and Team Members
  • Provide coaching and direction to Lead Barista and Team Members
  • Performing Day to Day operations and working hand to hand with your team. Tasks include but not limited: Organizing and displaying fresh products, performing or delegating cleaning duties, closing down and cleaning up, performing barista duties, etc.

Planning and Mapping

  • Manage store staffing levels to maintain store functionality and Team Member success
  • Communicates clearly and precisely to the Lead Barista and Team Members to ensure store functionality

Business Requirements

  • Understand and solicit feedback and needs from guests and the community

Uses all operational tools for optimal store success. Tools include, but are not limited to Excel Sheets, Homebase - scheduling, Basecamp - communication tool, GMail, Marketman, Square POS System, Deliverect System, Cash Reporting, Banking, Weekly Sales Reports, AM Daily Reports, and Inventory management.

  • Utilizes management tools to identify and address any trends, changes, or needs.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with our Team Members and Vendors

Coaching and Guidance

  • Provide Team Members, Baristas, and Lead Baristas with performance feedback, guidance, and development opportunities
  • Encourages growth and development in Team Members, Baristas, and Lead Baristas, who wish to seek out leadership opportunities
  • Motivates Team Members, Baristas and Lead Baristas to aspire and excel through customer expectations
  • Ensure that standard procedure is being followed for food/beverage and overall safety - the safety of self, co-workers, and guests at all times.
  • Reporting any potentially harmful equipment and situations immediately to Retail Director without delay

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Motivated Retail Experience 2 Years
  • Supervision and Leadership 1 Year
  • Customer service in Retail or Food Service 1-2 Years

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to create community and guest connection
  • Fluency in French is a plus!
  • Ability to manage store operations independently
  • Ability to function in a high-paced environment
  • Ability to manage multiple situations at once
  • Ability to understand and utilize provided tools and training
  • Interpersonal or soft skills
  • Knowledge of customer service techniques
  • Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedure
