Scope of the Role:

You will help to deliver a range of projects including those in the Advance Technology industrial sector.

Reporting to Senior Engineers and working as part of the design team you will be technically responsible for the safe, cost-effective, and timely preparation, execution and close-out of structural engineering tasks associated with the Advance technology projects in compliance with the relevant specifications and quality standard as specified by the client and their representatives.


Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Prepare structural designs and reports for structural elements as required by the project.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations of existing structures under senior engineer supervision.
  • Interface with drafters/BIM to produce packages of drawings for certification and fabrication ensuring drafting/BIM deliverables are produced in accordance with relevant specification and quality standards as specified by the Client and/or their representatives.
  • Follow closely the fabrication planning and execution phases to provide support as necessary.
  • Fully understand the scope of the Project works as per the Design/IFC specifications and drawings.
  • Correspondence with Client and subcontractors.
  • Assist to review project schedule and ensure engineering activities do not impact on same (e.g., Procurement, structural design, tech subs, etc).
  • Occasionally detail and deliver secondary steel packages.
  • Ability to liaise directly with clients, architects, and other design discipline team members, building long-term internal and external relationships:
  • Be a team player.
  • Willing to learn and understand multi-disciplinary design and construction processes

Essential Criteria for the Role:

  • Entitled to work in the Republic of Ireland.
  • Minimum 3-4 years’ work experience in a similar role.
  • BEng or MEng in structural or civil engineering.
  • Ideally experienced working as a structural design engineer on multi-disciplinary industrial projects.
  • Experience/Familiarity in the use of Eurocodes and AISC.
  • Computer literate, MS Word, and Excel.
  • Fluency in English in both spoken word and written.
  • The ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work calmly under pressure.
  • Ability to learn quickly and prioritise workload is essential.
  • Friendly, confident and people orientated.
  • Good organisational skills.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience with Navisworks, Trimble Connect, Tekla Structures, Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds, Idea Statica, Robot analysis software etc. would be advantageous.
  • Experience on a range of BIM tools (Tekla Structures/Revit) would be advantageous.
