The Woodlawn Campus of the University of Chicago Charter School (UCW) opened in September 2006. It has a three-part mission: 1) to assist students in developing the habits of mind, work, and heart to be successful in college and good citizens of their community; 2) to contribute to the community through student research, service, and leadership; and 3) to improve teaching and learning by serving as a site of professional development for teachers and school leaders. Woodlawn Middle School educates students in grades 6 - 8.

Position Summary:
Full-time, salaried 12-month position responsible for researching, building, solidifying, coordinating, modifying, and managing community programs and partnerships, after-school partnerships and programs, and during the school-day partnerships and programs. Partnerships and programs must enhance learning, strengthen student culture, increase school spirit, and establish long-term relationships with UCCS.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work hours 10:00AM - 6:00PM Mondays through Fridays & applicable Saturdays for Saturday School
• Establish and monitor after-school programs and activities for scholars Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays.
• Be present to manage, coordinate and oversee all after-school programs, events and activities.
• Promote after-school programs within the building by posting flyers, sending flyers electronically, making phone calls, and hosting orientations.
• Communicate to parents about after-school activities and program options.
• Develop an organized process for parents to sign their scholars up to participate in activities and programs.
• Manage and oversee all after-school activities, programs and employees.
• Communicate regularly with parents and staff via weekly newsletter about after-school activities & programs.
• Submit attendance daily for all after-school programs so that attendance data is accurately captured.
• Meet with directors & the office manager at least once bi-weekly to review expectations and discuss necessary updates.
• Research and meet with potential partners that can provide advanced opportunities for scholars & families
• Professionally and positively interact with students, volunteers, staff and parents.
• Effectively and appropriately manage behaviors of students and staff that participate in all after-school programs.
• Evaluate all programs and activities quarterly & determine continuation status.
• Clearly communicate to scholars and staff the location of all after-school programs & activities.
• Responsible for staff and student recruitment for all after-school programs.
• Be present at dismissal to welcome scholars and escort them to their appropriate after-school program and/or activity.
• Coordinate meals and snacks for all applicable after-school programs.
• Assist with managing and monitoring scholars during all lunch periods Mondays through Fridays (both MS & HS lunch periods).
• Organize, recruit and manage Saturday School programs.
• Advertise, promote, conduct voice invitations to families, and attend all FTCO meetings.
• Other duties as needed.

Education & Experience Required:

• Bachelor's Degree from accredited college or university
• Preferred Master's degree from accredited college or university
