Job description
The Student Assistant will provide administrative support to the department. In addition to performing miscellaneous clerical duties, the Student Assistant will also be required to assist with OT student clinical clearance and clinical education database management. S/he will also be required to assist with various department projects as assigned including equipment inventory, equipment preparation for classes, and assisting with special events.
Position Duties
- Greet and assist incoming visitors
- Answer a wide variety of questions related to the department’s procedures and other general questions (training will be provided)
- General clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, shredding, scanning, and other duties as assigned
- Assist with the heavy volume of phones; taking detailed messages for staff follow-up as necessary
- Assist with clinical clearance, data entry, and database management
- Perform other such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time
Position Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneDrive
- Ability to handle confidential information (student privacy and clinical clearance) in a discreet manner
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Reliable and patient with visitors
- Office experience a plus
- Ability to work independently
- meticulous attention to detail and thorough
- Ability to set priorities and meet expected deadlines.
- Strong customer service and organizational skills
Work Hours
Exact schedule to be determined with supervisor; no more than 20 hours per week when school is in session and no more than 35 hours per week during breaks
Hourly Rate Range
$18.00 - $22.00/hour
