The Records Clerk provides clerical support for the Student Records department. This position is responsible for the maintenance, accuracy and completeness of student records and schedules and performs a variety of clerical duties that are related to the work of the supervisor, requiring knowledge of office routine and procedures. This individual will also interact with management on a day-to-day basis, handling confidential documents and materials. Will be required to take on special projects and provide technical support to other departments as needed.

We support the Job Corps program’s mission to teach eligible young people the skills they need to become employable and independent and place them in meaningful jobs or further education. Our center specializes in Culinary Arts, Welding, Electronics Engineering, and Patient Care.

EMPLOYMENT AT EXETER JOB CORPS
Employment at Exeter Job Corps is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check, employment verification, education verification, professional reference check and motor vehicle record check.

Here is the schedule for this role:

Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm

Job Responsibilities:

  • Establishes and maintains files for recording student education and training progress, pay status and other pertinent information
  • Prepares arrival schedules for new students
  • Verifies records of new students
  • Maintains attendance records for each student, recording active status and deducting leave time
  • Prepares daily morning report, weekly morning report and weekly status report
  • Prepares report of changes in student’s personal data or status for submission to DOL Finance Center
  • Prepares student travel documents as required
  • Coordinates student travel to and from the Center by obtaining ticket information, preparing Government Travel Request (GTR) and notifying appropriate Center staff of the student itinerary
  • Prepares notifications to parents/guardians and Admissions Counselor regarding Student travel
  • Prepares monthly GTR and Meal Ticket Register reports
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, advanced degrees preferred
  • Six months record keeping or clerical experience required
  • Must possess basic numerical aptitude
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Suite of applications required
  • Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping, and crouching.
