Summer Camp Counselor

About the Job:
Under direct supervision of the Recreation Manager. Summer Camp Counselor will work directly with the campers by guiding them to successfully participate in all aspects of summer day camp activities.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Take primary responsibility for the health, well-being, and happiness of campers.
- Recognize and respond to opportunities for group problem solving.
- Provide opportunities for the group so that each individual experiences success while at camp.
- Observe camper behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulation and emergency procedures and apply appropriate behavior-management techniques.
- Prepare for and actively participate in pre-camp training and weekly meetings.
- Meet/communicate regularly with Manager regarding concerns, updates, and challenges.
Here’s what you’ll need to be successful:
- Working towards a degree
- One year tutoring experience.
- Must have a valid drivers license.
- Experience with Native American children preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Must successfully pass all applicable background checks and drug screens also be necessary.
