How You'll Contribute to the Team:
The Construction Superintendent is responsible for the on-site management of assigned construction
projects (vertical, renovation, ancillary, site development) including quality control, adherence to
national, state and local standards, plan reviews, value engineering, scope of work, contract review,
budget management, job scheduling and adherence to schedule, safety practices, job site cleanliness and
production.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Ensure dedication to the Corvias mission through all daily activities and decision making to ensure a satisfied customer base and delivery of quality homes and/or renovations.
- Assist clients and stakeholders when subcontractors are non-responsive or have warranty issues.
- Responsible for production consistent with the terms of the approved budget book, project plan and pro forma for the assigned project.
- Provide accurate production schedules to the Project Manager. Manage all day-to-day field operations required to meet production and provide accurate completion dates for assigned neighborhood.
- Prepare and provide accurate and timely updates to project schedules.
- Oversee all relevant contracts and ensure compliance where applicable.
- Closely monitor all budget expenditures to ensure staying within approved budget, make adjustments and recommendations as appropriate.
- Ensure subcontractor and Corvias safety plan is adhered to.
- Provide explanations and written justification for any field expenses that may result in change orders or back charges. Discuss monthly payment draw schedules with subcontractors.
- Manage all on-site subcontractor superintendents, trades people, suppliers and production personnel to ensure maximum productivity.
- Assist other departments during pre-construction in writing specifications, purchase, buyout, value engineer and contract for the required services to produce high quality housing within budgeted specifications.
- Keep the Operations Director and neighborhood office informed of construction activities to minimize disruption to residents.
- Actively participate in the fostering of communications between all functional areas to achieve the desired result of the communications plans.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, on-site staff, neighborhood property management staff, and site development team to ensure maximum levels of productivity and minimal disruptions to residents; report ongoing activities to neighborhood Project Manager.
- Provide leadership and assurance that housing production meets the standards set by Corvias for quality assurance, “Green Building” (if required), and are consistent with the specification for the project and the applicable building codes.
- Provide on-site leadership to subcontractors and assistant superintendents to ensure timely completion of quality homes.
- Provide leadership and assurance that housing production complies with all life safety codes, policies and procedures as promulgated by accepted standards and safe practices building guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
Role Specific Requirements Include:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction or related field is preferred.
- Certified OSHA 30 Hour Safety Training preferred.
- 5+ years' experience in residential wood frame fast track construction.
- Knowledge of local contractors and suppliers, commercial best practice techniques, and construction methods and building codes preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret building plans and specifications required.
- Experience with cost controls, scheduling, Microsoft Office, and production software required.
- Construction field experience and subcontractor management required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- This position may be required to support other locations. The ability and availability of construction staff to travel as frequently as expected by management and to meet management expectations to relocate for short, long, or indefinite time periods are essential functions of this job.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
