Position Title: 1st Shift Supervisor
This role oversees the production and packaging of products in a production area on second shift working mainly Monday through Thursday 5:00 am to 4:30 pm with Friday and Saturday work required as business needs dictate. This team member will work within established guidelines and standards to ensure that we are producing the highest quality product in a safe and clean environment.
Report To: Plant Manager
Overall Purpose:
Ensure that team members are producing and packaging fine quality products in a safe, secure, and sanitary manner within the appropriate specifications outlined by company managers.
Essential Job Functions:

• Supervise staff to ensure that tasks are completed on time and according to safety regulations.
• Assign tasks to Team Members.
• Ability to train new Team Members.
• Act as a first responder for production questions, issues, and concerns.
• Champion safety protocols in all activities, participating in improvements to safety standards where appropriate.
• Utilize Redzone software to monitors production data for overall equipment effectiveness.

• Enter and maintain data in Redzone such as, but not limited to, new product items, base settings, data sheets, machine information and more.

• Perform the following duties as well as ensure that team members are performing the following duties to company standards:
• Package products.
• Operate packaging/wrapping machines.
• Inspect products for quality.
• Check scales to ensure correct weights.
• Routinely check metal detectors are in working order.
• Maintain a clean working environment.
• Perform proper allergen and product washes.

• Verify there is adequate staff for each line and that all team members stay busy.
• Ensure that all team members are abiding by company policies and procedures.
• Perform regular quality checks to ensure product meets specifications.
• Prepare Supplies, products and set up appropriate equipment.
• Regularly perform percentage checks on products.
• Check equipment to ensure that it meets health and safety regulations.
• Perform simple maintenance or cleaning.
• Maintain appropriate inventory counts of products.
• Correctly record lot numbers, date codes and other product information.
• Keep supervisors and upper management apprised of daily operations.
• Ability to interact with all functions within the plant and the ability to work directly with individuals at all levels and functions.
• Ability to work overtime as needed and as required.
• Ability to maintain acceptable standards of conduct.
• Regular attendance.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisors and/or management.

Knowledge/Skills and Abilities:

• Minimum of 3 years experience working in manufacturing in a managerial role.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Computer literacy skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to problems solve.
• Ability to multitask.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment:

• Handle, control and/or feel objects/product.
• Lift up to 40 – 50 pounds occasionally and 20 – 30 pounds frequently.
• Possible exposure to minor burns or cuts
• Standing for long periods of time
• Repetitive motion and fast paced movement
• Continual use of hands to handle, control or feel objects
• Continual lifting
