OVERVIEW

The Insurance Services Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day leadership of the Insurance Services team, including the management of the workflow to ensure that the follow-up of accounts is timely and that days outstanding fall within acceptable levels.


Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain processing timelines established through department service level targets, ensuring team is meeting or exceeding goals
  • Maintain methods to ensure all third-party correspondence, trends of denials and problems are identified and reported to management
  • Monitor and minimize any bad debt or account adjustments to ensure accuracy and within account receivables guidelines
  • Monitor employee workflow and inventory, including distribution of work, staff scheduling and adherence to time and attendance protocol. Promptly identify issues and develop action plans to mitigate or resolve
  • Maintains days in accounts receivable at target levels. Maximizes cash collections, Reviews monthly aging reports with manager and assists with developing action plans
  • Coach, develop, motivate, and assist team members in reaching new levels of skills, knowledge, and ability. Coordinates with the Training department to ensure appropriate training development opportunities
  • Identify performance deficiencies and areas of improvement and efficiencies and implement action plans as appropriate.
  • Review and respond timely to requests, including emails, telephone calls, issues, account research and assistance with complex calls or issues as needed by staff, management, and clients.
  • Organizes the department workload and establishes work standards to promote efficiency and productivity. Monitors productivity & quality standards and maintains appropriate staffing levels.
  • Review and interpret patient statements for balance accuracy and client contractual terms/agreements
  • Account review and documentation when appropriate. Identify contractual and administrative adjustments
  • Participate in hiring of qualified new employees
  • Complete regular reviews of existing team members, providing feedback and coaching as needed while modeling and reinforcing Acclara’s Mission, Vision, and Values
  • May generate various reports for management and clients
  • Other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years in healthcare revenue cycle (preferably collections)
  • 1 year leadership experience in revenue cycle operations
  • Knowledge of EOBs, CPT/ICD-10 codes, HCFAs, UBO4s, HCPCS, DRGs and authorizations/referrals
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills and ability to work effectively to build relationships with peers, clients, and management
  • Extreme accuracy and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Understanding of ACD metrics and KPI reporting and improvement programs
  • Computer literate with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a professional manner
  • Excellent communication, organizational, problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to supervise, schedule, and coordinate daily activities of staff and effectively manage multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years revenue cycle supervisor experience
  • Experience with AR reporting including trending and aging
  • Knowledge and ability to work with multiple client AR systems
