As part of a diverse and hardworking operations team, you will supervisor a team of leads, and technicians in the assembly, test, and inspection of valves and controls components for various spaceflight systems. You will lead the team in all aspects of propulsion module, engine, and subassembly manufacturing. The production valve manufacturing team is a critical part of the company’s Integrated Supply Chain. A supervisor in this role will perform daily tasks including:

Supervising personnel including recruiting, quarterly performance reviews, coaching, managing work schedule, and monitoring labor hours and overtime.

Promoting and inspiring teamwork and good employee morale.

Providing status updates on hardware deliveries at daily schedule meeting.

Developing training and ensuring team members’ training records are accurate.

Ensuring all products meet quality standards in accordance with released engineering.

Maintaining stock of consumable items.
-
Ensuring all tools and equipment are maintained and calibrated.
-
Ensuring proper 5S and FOD controls are in place and adhered to.
Our team is a direct supplier to all of Blue’s Business Units, and executes for New Shepard, New Glenn, Blue Moon, and the Blue Engines programs. The Kent, WA production valve manufacturing team provides a crucial, integrated service that supplies all Blue Origin operational sites.
For this supervisory position, we are seeking somebody excited to work in a fast-paced, high-output environment, who is passionate about space and has a strong desire to continuously learn and improve. Passion for our mission and vision is required!
Qualifications:

5+ years experience in aerospace or related field.

2+ years experience leading a team of direct reports.
-
3+ years hands-on experience with valve assembly or equivalent field.

Ability to use standard tools and basic fabrication equipment.
-
Knowledge of drawing and work order review, familiarity with inventory and issue tracking systems.
-
Demonstrated ability to problem solve and remove roadblocks.
-
Ability to document and maintain accurate records.
-
Lean manufacturing training and experience.
-
Ability to work in a team environment with multiple and rapidly changing priorities.

Ability to manage personnel staffed across the following production work schedule:

Shift B: Monday - Thursday 3pm - 1:30am

Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired:

Familiarity with standard aerospace manufacturing materials and processes.

Experience inspecting and troubleshooting aerospace or military hardware.

Familiarity with CAD/CAM drawing package (Windchill, Creo, etc.).

Must be physically able to:

Climb ladders and stairs, and work in small, restricted areas

Lift and carry 25 lbs.
