Bell has an opening for a Supplier Quality Assurance Specialist. Preferred location for applicant is Northeastern United states to facilitate source inspection of bearings.

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for ensuring the Supply Chain is meeting Bell’s Supplier Quality requirements. Additionally, this position coordinates Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCAs) dealing with nonconforming product. This role does require the ability to travel at least 50%.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Possesses solid knowledge of in Supplier Quality. In this position one provides leadership and coordination of supplier quality initiatives that effectively support and advance the department to meet todays and future requirements.
  • Work with SMEs, SCMEs, Customers, and Suppliers, under the direction of a Supplier Quality Manager or senior level peer as needed to support technical issues as they relate to supplier quality and safety.
  • Manage and execute improvement projects, compile supporting analysis, and communicate findings to key stakeholders with minimal oversight.
  • Cross training and developing skills with other team members based on your experience and knowledge.
    • Continue to develop your knowledge base through research, training, and education.
    • Work with SME’s to increase your knowledge of manufacturing technologies
  • Work with suppliers to drive improvement using engineering logic, facts, and data gathered at the supplier and our production facilities to mitigate issues.
  • Performs Supplier Audits of Classified and Major suppliers, Processors and Service Providers, as applicable
  • Performs source inspections of product
  • Conducts First Article Inspections, including validation and verification of engineering characteristics and requirements
  • Drives supplier RCCA and provides input and data for CAB I and CAB II meetings (Corrective Action Board)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree (Engineering or Aerospace degree preferred) with 3+ years of experience.
  • Relevant experience (6+ years preferred) and technical training will be considered in lieu of degree preferably in Supplier Quality Assurance roles
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with methods of inspection, processes control and improvement techniques
  • Familiar with prevalent industry Supplier Quality Systems & Records (inclusive of retention requirements and backup)
  • Experience with Metrology/Calibration for purposes of audit and measurement system analysis
  • Works through a disciplined approach in initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing tasks to achieve specific goals to specific success criteria.
  • Work and deliverables reviewed and checked through supervision for technical soundness to adequately meet objectives.
  • Proven problem-solving skills: Demonstrates an advanced level of root-cause analysis
    • Strong business knowledge and has knowledge of how strategies and tactics work in the marketplace
    • Very good knowledge in Supply Chain current polices and makes recommendations regarding future policies, practices, trends, and information affecting the organization
  • Intermediate knowledge in a manufacturing technology
  • Able to apply engineering design and analysis knowledge to evaluate discrepancies and anomalies.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio and Outlook
  • Travel 25% minimum and up to 50% for periods
  • Efficient user of Bell Enterprise systems of record (SAP,ENOVIA,CAMS)
  • Experience with CAD tools like Catia V 5/6, MATLAB and ANSYS, SAP, Enovia (Preferred).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicant located in the Northeastern part of the United states near the main bearing suppliers for easy travel to them to conduct source inspection on a scheduled basis

Experience working directly within the bearing suppliers (SKG, NHBB Timken Etc).

This job requires source inspection of bearing suppliers, along with corrective action of these suppliers when issues arise.
