Responsibilities:
This is supervisory work in the operation and administration of a storeroom; responsible for supervising and/or participating in the receiving, recording, storing, and issuing a variety of materials, equipment, and supplies, including those of a specialized nature; maintaining records and accountability for store items; servicing and maintaining equipment; and recommending the purchase of equipment and supplies; supervises the checking of incoming materials for quantity and quality against invoices or purchase orders reporting discrepancies to a supervisor; issues supplies on approved requisitions; prepares and maintains a perpetual inventory system for all storeroom and laboratory supplies and equipment; supervises and/or participates in the care and maintenance of storeroom and supplies and equipment; assembles, packs, and arranges for transport all stored goods and materials; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required; performs related duties as required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and two years of clerical experience, one of which must have been in receiving, storing, shipping, and issuing stores and/or laboratory items. Successful completion of post-high school clerical training at an accredited college, university, vocational/technical school, or community college as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester hours or 720 classroom hours for one year of the required experience.
Specified positions may require possession of a valid driver's license and maintenance of a driving record sufficient to maintain insurance coverage under the University of South Alabama.
