TITLE: SUPPORT SERVICES AND FLEET ASSET MANAGER

LOCATION: ARVIN, CA

COMPENSATION: $100,000 - $160,000 / YEAR

PURPOSE:

To manage all aspects of the Support Services Department under the company’s Construction Division. Responsible for personnel and day to day operations of the Support Shop, Facility Fleet Assets, and Fleet & Support Services groups.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a minimum ten (10) years of fleet asset management experience with large inventory of construction, industrial, earth-moving, farm, and/or on-road fleet equipment.
  • Expertise in the field of rolling vehicle maintenance service, repairs, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Familiar and comfortable with financial reporting and analysis, including budgeting.
  • Familiar with all applicable safety and regulatory requirements concerning on-road equipment.
  • Must be organized and demonstrate an ability to multi-task efficiently.
  • Possess a congenial attitude and have strong written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to foster and promote teamwork across entire department.
  • Computer literate.
  • Experienced utilization of asset management software.
  • Must be able to travel occasionally both local and out of the area depending on business need.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean DMV driving record.
  • Must pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen, physical and functional capacity evaluation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Support Services Manager is responsible for managing the company’s fleet assets and facility support activities, including maintenance and repair programs (local and mobile servicing), to ensure the efficient, safe, and compliant operation of vehicles, machinery, and equipment assigned to the department. Core responsibilities include:

  • Day-to-day operations of the Support Services Shop and its personnel
  • Budgeting, procurement, regulatory compliance, safety, training, parts inventory control, cost analysis, and reporting.
  • Fleet management, asset cost analysis, and capex budgeting
  • Develop and train department employees to create and maintain a safe and continuous improvement culture that fosters outstanding customer service and provides solution-based strategies
  • Manage and monitor all outside rental activities for the entire company. This includes rental cost tracking by cost center, reporting, invoicing, and delivery/pick-up coordination.
  • DOT/CARB/NCCCO collaboration with company regulatory and safety departments for fleet, on-road truck rules, crane operation, and crane operators’ compliance certifications.
  • Oversee department’s asset management system for scheduling, work order, and purchase order implementation.
  • Coordinate parts inventories and purchasing with corporate purchasing team
  • Top-level communication with company management regarding fleet assets, costs, and recommendations.
  • Provide support services to all company operational facilities, assigned farm and ranch field equipment, daily fueling/lubing/inspection services, dust control activities, equipment and machinery transportation, crane operations, and other skilled support activities, as requested.
  • Other duties, as may be assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to remain in a stationary position throughout much of the working day. Ability to move about inside the office and support shop. Ability to operate a computer and other equipment. Must be able to work in different temperatures. Must be able to work in a high noise area. Must be able to move items weighing up to 50lbs.
