Job Summary and Qualifications

• Assigns beds according to needs of patient, available staff, and physician preference.
• Promotes a multidisciplinary coordination of services, such as, nursing medical, respiratory care, laboratory, pharmaceutical and public relations.
• Demonstrates excellent skills in planning, organizing, and managing personnel resources in a cost effective and productive manner for the operation of the department.
• Manages the practice of professional nursing and support positions within the department to maintain quality patient care through implementation and evaluation of clinical practice standards.
• Promotes positive customer service with external and internal departments.
• Executes decisions in the absence of the Administrative Staff.
• Understands all functional areas with the hospital.
• Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, qualify of care or the services delivered.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the occurrence reporting system. Uses system to report potential patient safety issues.
• Follows established guidelines for reporting a significant medical error or unanticipated outcome in the patient’s care which results in patient harm.
• Attends in-service presentations and completes all mandatory education requirements.
• Uses Performance Improvement Plan to improve patient safety.
• Regular, Punctual and dependable attendance.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Bed Management which includes but is not limited to:
• Daily management and review of bed metrics and throughput.
• Attendance at committee meetings that relate to CV, stroke, intensive care, sepsis, and throughput.
• CPOE management of direct admit process.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Registered Nurse
• Registered Nurse Diploma, or Bachelors Degree, or Associate Degree

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
