Position Description

Responsible for the supervision of staff and daily operations of the AU Health Security Division. Duties include, but are not limited to, enforcing security policies and procedures and ensuring security incidents are handled per policy and procedure, and training, scheduling, counseling, and guiding staff in daily tasks. While on duty, this position will be expected to carry a Conducted Electrical Device (CED), also known as a 'taser.' If the incumbent does not have an accepted certification upon hire, they will be trained on-site by a certified instructor. The incumbent must demonstrate proficiency with the CED and successfully pass a written exam before a CED is issued. If the incumbent does not have an accepted certification upon hire, they will also be required to be exposed to the electrical muscular disruption effects of the CED. The incumbent will be given an attestation of the Voluntary Exposure Guidelines to review and sign prior to the exposure. Accommodations will be made for those unable to be exposed due to a prior health condition. Officers must recertify each year.

Position Requirements

High School Diploma or GED and 5 years or more of experience in Healthcare, Security, Law Enforcement and/or Military. IAHSS Basic within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Requirements

5 years or more of experience in Security, Law Enforcement, or Military supervision. IAHSS Basic or Supervisor upon hire. Taser ® or AXON Certification.
