Summary

-The Surgery Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the schedules of physicians, operating rooms, anesthesiologists, equipment, lab work and any other required items/staff in accordance with a physician's recommendation for patient care

-Acts as a liaison between the patient, provider/referring physician, primary care physician, and other parties involved in the surgery/procedure to include distribution of pre and post-operative information to the patient

-Obtains prior authorization on surgical procedures and clinic procedures as required

-Provide patients with written/verbal explanation of surgery process and requirements

-Creates and completes surgery charts and provides them to the surgery center within the required time frame

-Travels between offices (sometimes)

-Communicates effectively with patients & physicians

- Coordinates that all instruments are ready to use the day of the surgery

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

• Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
