The Department of Surgery at ECU Health is seeking a Program Director to lead our ACGME-accredited General Surgery Residency at ECU Health Medical Center and the ECU Brody School of Medicine.
The successful candidate will lead a well-established, robust surgical training program for 33 residents who complete five clinical years and one research year. A surgical educator has recently joined the education division. The program director will have .50 FTE dedicated to the role, with the remainder in clinical practice with ECU Health. Candidates with a clinical interest in the following areas are encouraged to apply: breast surgery, endocrine surgery, general surgery, transplant surgery, trauma/acute care surgery, pediatric surgery, surgical oncology.
Fixed-Term or Tenure Track appointment available at title/rank of Clinical Assistant Professor/Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor/Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor/Professor, per qualifications.
Minimum Education/Experience
- MD or DO from an appropriately accredited institution
- Full unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of North Carolina
- Board certified in General Surgery and completion of fellowship training appropriate to the clinical specialty
- demonstrated commitment to teaching and education with at least three years of recent experience as a Program Director, Associate Program Director, Student Clerkship Director or core faculty experience in an accredited surgical education program
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation
NC medical license
