Job Title: Surgical Tech (CMA, CST, or LPN)

Department: MOHS Ambulatory Surgery Center

Education and/or Experience

Degree in medical assisting, surgical technology or nursing.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

CMA, CST, or LPN

BLS certification required.

Summary Assists surgical team before, during, and after surgery by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Punctual.
• Assists with obtaining patient history and obtains photos of surgical site(s).
• Assists patients with putting on gowns and drapes patients with covering.
• Prepares and administers local anesthetics.
• Accurately and thoroughly documents medical visits and procedures using Electronic Health Records (EHR) and transcribes medical notes dictated by surgeon.
• Schedules appointments.
• Assists clinical staff with post-operative questions from patients.
• Places equipment and supplies in operating room and arranges instruments according to instructions.
• Assists team members to place and position patient appropriately.
• Scrubs arms and hands and don gown and gloves, and aids team to don gowns and gloves.
• Maintains supply of fluids, such as sterile saline, sterile water, etc.
• Hands instruments and supplies to surgeon, holds retractors, cuts sutures, and performs other tasks as directed by surgeon during operation.
• Puts dressings on patient following surgery and explains wound care instructions.
• Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials.
• Washes and sterilizes equipment and cleans operating room.
• Other duties as assigned.

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
