SIGN ON BONUS BASED ON EXPERIENCE STARTS AT $5,000

General Description:

Under direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse and Surgical Team members, responsible for the handling of surgical instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during extremely complicated to highly complex surgical procedures. Ensures understanding of the assigned surgical procedures being performed and anticipates the needs of the assigned surgeon and surgical team members. Also provides service support related to patient preparation, patient transport, and assisting surgical care team with specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs. Responds to emergent situations according to established procedures.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. Graduate of Surgical Technology program accredited by CAAHEP, Dept. of Education, or Council on Occupational Education (COE) required. Minimum of one (1) year experience as a Surgical Technologist with extremely complicated/complex case experience required. Able to demonstrate expertise in specific specialties and be a preceptor/teacher.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES:

Current BLS certification required or become BLS certified within one month of start date. Maintains certification by participating in continuing education. Failure to retain certification will result in reclassification to a non-certified Surgical Technologist with appropriate change in pay.
