We are currently looking to fill the role of Field/GIS Technician for our Dayton, OH office.

SURVEY FIELD TECHNICIAN MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in the collection of survey data
• Train with and operate miscellaneous survey equipment
• Acquire knowledge in field note taking
• Assist in the completion of field surveys
• Assist survey crew chief in other duties as needed
• Perform field LIDAR scanning
• Coordinate project scope with project managers and plan scanning to ensure project scope is achieved
• Assist with technical strategies and continuous improvement of operations focusing on safety, procedures, quality control, pricing and solutions to improve performance and maximize efficiency
• Coordinate with project managers and clients on data quality and acquisition scheduling
• Document procedures and flight operations and record results with precision and accuracy
• Ability to work hands-on with UAS systems and lidar equipment, including assembly, disassembly, testing and troubleshooting
• Verify the accuracy of acquired data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
• Lifting requirements 50-100 lb.

SURVEY FIELD TECHNICIAN MINOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Willingness to travel extensively (overnight stays based on supported projects) to various US-based locations
• Outdoor work environment subject to hot/cold temperatures and uneven terrain
• Familiarity with iOS, Android and Windows Operating Systems on both desktop and mobile environments
• Desire to innovate and solve difficult problems from inception to final deliverable
• Ability to react quickly and calmly to high-pressure situations
• Organized with attention to detail
• Accurate data entry skills
• Other duties as assigned.

SURVEY FIELD TECHNICIAN QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma required; some college preferred
• 6 months or more of survey or related field experience preferred but not required
• Experience with and desire to troubleshoot electronic equipment, software, and technology
• Willing to obtain FAA Part 107 drone pilot license
