About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced Sustainability & ASSAP Advisor for our site in Charleville, Cork on a full time, permanent basis. The Sustainability & ASSAP Advisor will be responsible for working with Kerry Agribusiness milk suppliers to accelerate adoption of sustainable farming practices. The advisor will provide advice and support to our milk suppliers on actions that they can take to improve water quality through the Agricultural Sustainability Support and Advisory Programme (ASSAP).
Job Requirements:
- To deliver agreed programmes aimed at supporting farmers to reduce gaseous emissions, improve habitats and enhance biodiversity on their farm.
- To develop and deliver the agreed business plan of the Agricultural Sustainability Support and Advisory Programme
- To use a range of effective advisory methodologies including one to one support and public events as part of a team to achieve improvements in farmers environmental sustainability.
- To engage with farmers located in “high pressure” catchments to identify risks arising from their farming operations to water quality
- Identify improvements in farmyard, roadway and land management practice to support reduction on point source losses.
- To liaise with other advisors / industry professionals with the objective of enhancing water quality and community engagement.
- To support / organize / deliver local dissemination events such as farm walks and meetings.
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and skills
- Good Knowledge of the farming industry.
- Excellent communication and team working skills
- Have a high level of commitment and energy.
- Advisers will be required to have their own transport in order to efficiently carry out their duties.
- Full clean drivers licence.
- Previous industry experience is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications:
- 3rd Level Qualification in Agricultural/ Environmental Science or equivalent
- Proficient IT Skills
