Employee Job Description - Monday - Friday 4:00-6:30pm (some weekends for swim meetings)

GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Swim Coach/ Lifeguard has responsibilities in conjunction a competitive swim teach utilizing a strong volunteer base. Coordinate dryland, strength training and practice schedules. Prepare daily work outs for team and prepare lineups and entries for swim meets. Attend league meetings and all dual and championship swim meets, Attend selective invitationals. Be certifed and attend USS swim meets.

Act a liason with the PSTPO (booster/volunteer contigency). Demonstrates a commitment to YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.

EXPERIENCE - EDUCATION - KNOWLEDGE – SKILLS - ABILITIES:

Education: CPR & 1st Aid, Lifeguard Certified, Level 1 & 2 ASCA Certified, Principles of Competitive Swimming Certified.

Experience: Experience working with children or adults in group aquatic settings. Prior competitive swimming experience as a participant is preferred.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Communicates effectively with participants, team members and supervisor. · Ensures the safety and welfare of participants and team members. · Assures compliance with YMCA quality standards and safety protocols related to the Aquatics department.

• PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift
• Must be able to bend and stoop occasionally
• Must be able to lift 35 pounds occasionally

Job Type: Part-time

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability

• Swim Coaching: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• First Aid Certification (Preferred)
