Position Name: System Administrator

Location (City/State/Zip Code): Colorado Springs, CO (Colorado Springs, CO)

BESL is seeking a qualified System Administrator with duties on-site in Colorado Springs, CO. The system administrator is responsible for monitoring internal or customer administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of capacity resources for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7/8 systems. Additionally, the system administrator recommends software and hardware enhancements, diagnoses, and corrects issues, defines and implements new services with the goal of achieving maximum server uptime and availability for customers. Finally, the system administrator is responsible for providing help desk phone support and conduct action item ticket management.

Position requires the following:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Linux/Unix systems
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with helpdesk operations or application management
  • Experience implementing patches, scanning, remediating findings, and auditing systems
  • Experience maintaining Puppet controlled systems
  • Experience with virtualization (KVM, Ansible, VMWare hypervisor/vSphere v6.5)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployments utilizing Ansible automation
  • Experience with working in a feedback driven DevSecOps team
  • Experience implementing or operating within DoD technical security concepts and practices such as STIGs, ACAS, Splunk, and SCC
  • DOD 8570.01M IAT 2 Certification
    • Security+
  • Red Hat RHCSA certification or completion within 6 months of employment
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to achieve and maintain a DOD Security clearance


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with the System Integrity Management Platform (SIMP) puppet modules
  • Experience with RedHat Identity Management (IdM)
  • Experience with supporting DoD/government customers
  • Knowledge of Cisco switch configurations

Education/Certifications:

  • Associates Degree or minimum 2 years relevant experience
  • Bachelors' Degree or minimum 4 years relevant experience
  • Red Hat RHCSA
  • DOD 8570.01M IAT 2 Certification
    • Security+

Pay Data (Range): $67,500.00 - $82,500.00.
