Job Title: System Administrator IV

Description

IBSS is searching for experienced system administrators familiar with supporting a combined Windows and Linux environment. The position will support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) National Environmental Satellite Data, and Information Service (NESDIS), Center for Satellite Applications and Research (STAR).

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing service desk end user and infrastructure support including completing/closing helpdesk requests
• Performing hardware/software installation, configuration, operation, maintenance, upgrades, removal, decommissioning, and security administration
• Analyzing, debugging, troubleshooting and correcting IT hardware/software issues
• Developing and documenting operating procedures, scripts, and software to accomplish helpdesk administration tasks/duties
• Supporting enterprise IT solution design and development activities
• Supporting Agency federal technical personnel with developing IT hardware/software requirements to facilitate the organization's IT acquisitions

Required Skills /Education/ Certifications & Qualifications:

• The ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
• 5+ years of relevant experience

Desired Skills:

• Bachelor's degree
• 8+ years of relevant experience

Working Environment:

• Monday - Friday, normal 8-5 schedule
• Occasional on-call and after hours support as needed to support operational issues and maintenance requirements
• Place of performance is NOAA Center for Weather and Climate Prediction (NCWCP) in College Park, MD
