What You'll Do

Duties include working closely with project shareholders to provide overall technical leadership to develop and implement software solutions. Researches, designs, develops and/or modifies enterprise level systems and/or applications software using languages and tools such as C#, C++, ABAP, Java, JavaScript, HTML5, Visual Studio.NET, Xamarin, Microsoft IIS, CAM-Post, and Vericut. Provides customer support as necessary, including certain business and system administration functions in support of the Direct Numerical Control network. Serves as a liaison between software developers and the customer organization to fulfill needs and modifications to the system. Installs, upgrades, and manages CAM-Post software server licenses and client installations. Functions as the Technical Lead for the Numerical Control Management System utilized by Engineering in the management of production part programs. Provides maintenance and upgrades to existing systems. May have customer and vendor management interfacing responsibility. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring implementations adhere to company policies. The position requires support for the software quality assurance and software engineering life cycle including conceptual design, requirements definition, functional and computer system design, systems development and programming, implementation, testing, installation, and configuration management associated with enterprise level application systems and solutions.

  • Work closely with functional and business team members, enterprise architects, system engineers, and application developers to design and develop enterprise solutions based on approved architecture and business requirements
  • Demonstrate innovation when designing solutions and solving complex IT problems
  • Ensure solutions are well-engineered, operable, and maintainable while also ensuring adherence to defined project management policies, change management guidelines, and quality assurance processes
  • Work with IT project management to deliver solutions on schedule and within budget
  • Be alert to changes that may affect the security and operational environment of systems
  • Monitor current and future trends in technology to the benefit of the organizational project and production systems service goals

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline
  • OR a Master's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline
  • OR Eight or more years of education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years of-experience requirements for this posting

Preferred Job Requirements

  • Experience with CAM-Post post processor development software suite
  • Experience with CGTech's Vericut machine tool simulation software
  • Familiarity with PTC's CREO CAD/CAM product suite
  • Experience with programming structures and logic
  • Web server technologies such as Microsoft IIS
  • Effective communication skills and demonstrated success in a team environment
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.

Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
