JOB SUMMARY:



The Systems Administrator will help support, secure, and maintain multiple operating environments for existing and emerging products. The candidate must be experienced in project execution, support and operations for multiple platforms in a progressive and collaborative Agile environment.




ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Support, troubleshoot and maintain our platform and services to ensure the availability, security, scalability, and performance


  • Provide operational reports regarding system status and performance, problems and resolutions, service level performance, and other such status and performance measures as appropriate.


  • Document processes and procedures to support the platform in a scalable, secure way.


  • Maintain a software currency plan, including patch management processes, concerning the in-place solutions


  • Manage a utilization and capacity plan


  • Support operational excellence by contributing to the continuous improvement of the environment, processes, and procedures


  • Collaborate with the automation team to implement new automation and contribute as needed to the automation of the infrastructure.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



  • Strong communication skills - verbal and written - with the ability to collaborate within a team and across organizations.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in a multi- tier environment to cover infrastructure items (Networking, OS, dBase)
  • Exposure to compliance accounting and reporting
  • Experience delivering infrastructure as code using automation tools such as CloudFormation/IAC, Terraform, Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
  • Knowledge of systems administration in a variety of environments - Linux, Windows, MSSQL, Active Directory, Virtualized/Cloud (AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), etc.).
  • Ability to deploy and manage systems and services on cloud platforms like AWS (S3, RDS, EC2, VPC, EKS), Azure, OCI, and GCP.
  • Solid experience managing environments from development to production.
  • Strong experience in scripting languages. Python, bash, PowerShell, etc.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Data Dog, App Dynamics, CloudWatch, Uptrends, LogDNA, New Relic, Nagios, Zabbix, Elastic Stack, etc.
  • Desired experience supporting Software as a Service (SaaS) environments including deployment and management in various cloud environments.
  • Understanding of security best practices when managing environments, applications, and CI/CD processes.
  • Document and test disaster recovery and business continuity of the production environment.
  • Document and test backup and recovery of data, configurations, systems and applications in the environment
  • Participate in an on-call rotation in support of the production environment.
  • Performing occasional off-hours or weekend work as needed.


EDUCATION AND TRAINING:



  • 3+ years of experience in technology related roles


  • 1+ years of experience supporting customer facing systems and services.


  • 1+ years of experience with Agile methodologies.
