Job Summary:
This position is Systems Engineering-oriented with the responsibility for the management of complex systems/sub-systems (electrical, mechanical, and/or software) for reactor, power distribution, and instrumentation and control through the entire lifecycle using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods, practices, and tools.
Specific job responsibilities may include:
- Preparation and maintenance of system/sub-system performance requirements.
- Extensive communications with customer and supplier personnel.
- Execution of projects using MBSE and specialized tools.
- Collaboration with project stakeholders to create system models that accurately document the requirements and performance.
- Review and disposition of supplier generated models for compliance with standards/requirements and compatibility with other system/sub-system models.
- Provide Systems Engineering expertise via consultation and training to other BPMI departments and Tier-1 suppliers.

Minimum Job Requirements:
- B.S. or M.S. degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 for newer college graduates.
- Experience with complex electrical, mechanical, or software system/sub-system designs with multiple cross-functional teams. Ability to learn, understand, and implement new technologies, processes, and tools to meet business and mission needs.
- Requires a security clearance, however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance is required.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of Systems Engineering experience is preferred.
- Experience with Systems Engineering methods and practices such as:
- Requirements Management
- Systems Architecture
- Interface Management
- System Development Lifecycle (V-model)
- Experience implementing and managing MBSE projects using industry standards tools and standards such as SysML and OOSEM.
- Knowledge of multi-disciplinary modeling and simulation techniques and standards such as FMI to support target system performance analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize work with minimal guidance.
- A proven track record of effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven experience to collaborate in multi-disciplinary and multi-company teams to achieve a common objective.
