Cornerstone Buildings Brands is looking for a Systems Engineer to join its Star Building Systems team. This role is liaison between the design engineering team and IT. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide technical requirements and engineering standards for enhancements, new projects, and initiatives. In addition, the position will include being part of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) engineers. This position will require strong technical ability to understand the steel/structural design of metal building systems. This role is very critical to the Engineering department as they will impact productivity, efficiency, lead times, cost, and ultimately customer satisfaction.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical and detailed design methods by which, the Engineering Design System (EDS) can be programmed to augment the current capabilities and add new features.
  • Communicate needs and difficulties to all members of the team to assure quick disposition of problems.
  • Serve on applicable Task Groups and participate in Engineering Council meetings.
  • Coordinate work with other departments as required (Technical Services/IT, Design, Drafting, Manufacturing, etc.)
  • Technical expertise to be conversant on all applicable building codes, material design standards, company procedures, computer software programs, and industry sponsored research.
  • Skilled at documenting and communicating test results

Qualifications
  • High technical proficiency of the codes and specs, and a critical thinking approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil and Structural Engineering
  • PE preferred
  • Minimum of 5-years metal building design experience or related field
  • Prior experience with EDS UAT and EDS Tech Requirement development is a plus

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $90,000 to $110,000 + medical, dental, vision benefits starting day 1 + 401k and PTO. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
