DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provisioning
  • Installs new / rebuilds existing servers and configures system in accordance with standards and project requirements
  • Contributes to and maintains system standards; Ensures system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values
  • Develops installation strategies, scripts and procedures for all software components, as necessary to support developed applications
  • Participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure

• Operations and Support
  • Performs system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all systems
  • Performs daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up
  • Installs, configures and administers operating systems, file systems, databases and networks on various platforms (will vary, according to assigned site)
  • Monitors capacity of all databases and performs rollovers, when required

• Performs regular file archival as necessary
• Familiar with creating scripts to monitor system, retrieves information, and performs system tasks not provided by application
• Analyzes report, repairs and tracks issues/failures
• Supports operations staff in executing, testing and rolling-out the solutions

• Maintenance
  • Performs systems upgrades on a regular basis; It includes the loading, testing, configuration, replacement or addition of new systems as necessary
  • Schedules periodic and routine maintenance to ensure system performance levels and support capacity planning
  • Participates in system maintenance on monthly basis.

Qualifications:

• REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or any IT related field (may be exchanged for equivalent levels of work experience or combination of education and experience)
• Must have between one and three years’ prior experience administering and supporting systems, relational databases and developing administrative scripts and programs
• Must demonstrate a baseline working knowledge of:
  • Systems administration and/or programming theory, principles and practices
  • Current and emerging operating and application systems and technology
  • Current security practices and network protocols.
  • Current software and hardware technologies
• Must have experience with VMware, HyperV, Storage devices, and Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
• Must have excellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; must have strong attention to detail
• Must possess excellent organizational and time management skills; must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work, even when faced with conflicting demands
• Must have effective verbal and written communication skills; must be clear when explaining technical/complex issues and when providing guidance to other
• Must be able to demonstrate a logical thought process
• Must be creative and innovative
• Must have strong customer and interpersonal skills to maintain effective relationships within the Organization
• Must be self-motivated, demonstrate good initiative and sound judgment
