Summary:
Summary
The Systems Operations Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the Systems Operations and Administration Team which includes troubleshooting complex system issues and providing support to the Tier 2 support teams as needed. This role is responsible for performing required systems maintenance such as monthly patching, vulnerability remediation and system updates.

Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.
  • Provides exceptional IT support to internal customers across geographical locations ensuring a continuous high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Develops, documents, makes recommendations, and communicates plans for investing in core system architecture, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities.
  • Assists to coordinate and resolve escalations from Tier 1 and Tier 2 Support teams.
  • Troubleshoots and supports branch networks, Citrix, Office 365, Active Directory, Group Policy, Azure AD, Windows and VMware.
  • Performs administration of the branch networks, Citrix, Office 365, Active Directory, Group Policy, Azure AD, Windows and VMware including policy and configuration changes.
  • Assists in maintenance/management of Greenbrier servers, storage and backup architecture.
  • Collaborates with various internal and client teams to ensure a seamless transition from legacy environment to new cloud infrastructure and business-as-usual delivery of products and services.
  • Interacts with Service desk team tracking client issues, updating client tickets and ensuring closure while providing documentation to update Greenbrier’s knowledgebase.
  • Documents configurations (updating CMDB, Visio Diagrams, project deliverables) as needed.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure Service Levels (SLA’s) are met.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, MIS or a minimum of 1 year experience supporting enterprise systems in a corporate IT support role.
  • Possess the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deliver customer service that provides an excellent end user support experience.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Windows architecture including general knowledge of system management best practices for Microsoft Windows Server, Office 365, SQL Server, Active Directory (AD), Group Policy, and Remote Installation Services.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience implementing, administering, and supporting Azure (IaaS) or Cloud Security.
