Duties
Prepares and posts vacancies, writes and places ads, provides information to applicants and employees regarding SAA employment and benefits. Reviews position descriptions and addendums for conflicting information. Provides advice, guidance and assistance on recruitment processes, including interviews and policy interpretation; assists department directors, ASAAs, and hiring managers in interpretation of recruitment policy; guides offices through the full cycle recruitment process. Processes and maintains background security files, including records for SAA vendor contract employees as well as new and prospective employees; serves as liaison with U.S. Capitol Police. Assists with creating and maintaining recruitment library of resources; conducts SAA Recruitment office hours, SAA Recruiting 101 and training for hiring managers. Reviews and reconciles monthly statements with vendors and finance department for job postings, makes authorized purchases on behalf of HR to post job announcements. Conducts outreach and employment briefings to diverse trade associations, alumni networks, staff associations, and minority serving institutions; participates in career events in support of integrating inclusivity and diversity into talent pools in support of the Recruiter.

Qualifications
Work requires a Bachelor's Degree in human resources management or a related field, and two to four years of progressively responsible professional human resources experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the following knowledge, abilities and skills:
- Knowledge of modern human resources management principles, practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment, including computers, spreadsheets, databases and relevant software/Web applications.
- Knowledge of driving engagement and raising awareness regarding employment opportunities.
- Knowledge of building and maintaining relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Ability to learn the Senate’s legal employment obligations under the Congressional Accountability Act and various employment laws.
- Ability to maintain guidelines and procedures for effective human resources support programs.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential effectively information.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to conduct outreach.
- Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy when dealing with applicants, staff, and the public.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Work is performed in an office environment and is essentially sedentary, with occasional walking, standing, bending, safely carrying items less than 15 pounds such as a laptop, books, papers, files, etc., and may require extended periods of computer use.
