Primarily responsible for heling prepare the Company’s state and local income and franchise tax returns for a large multistate Company. This includes the gathering of information from corporate and subsidiary companies used in the compilation of the apportionment factors for separate company and combined returns. The person in this position supports the Tax Team on special tax projects, research and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of state and local income tax returns and franchise tax returns using Onesource tax software.
• Preparation of account reconciliations for accrued state and local income taxes and corporate franchise taxes.
• Preparation of journal entries for adjusting tax accrual amounts and recording the annual state and local tax provision to return true up.
• Preparation of estimated payments for quarterly state and local income and franchise taxes
• Assist in calculating state FIN 48 income tax balances and entries.
• Preparation of annual reports and business licenses and related payment vouchers.
• Research tax implications of completed and proposed business transactions.
• Prepare and/or review responses to taxing authority notices.
• Interact with taxing authority auditors to respond to information document requests and respond to questions.
• Assist in the preparation of the consolidated Federal income tax return as time permits.

Requirements

• 4 year degree in Accounting or Finance and relevant work experience
• CPA or Masters in Tax is a plus
• 1 or more years of experience in preparing Federal, state and city income taxes of a large multinational corporation
• Experience with Onesouce tax software and SAP/Host Analytics/Blackline software preferred.
• Good problem-solving and interpersonal skills required
• Ability to organize, prioritize and complete multiple tasks on time
• Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Word, Powerpoint
