We have an excellent opportunity for a Tax Accountant in our Mason, Ohio headquarters location.
In this position, the successful candidate will perform the following job responsibilities:
- Prepare and file personal property taxes, unclaimed property reporting, and business licenses.
- Prepare monthly use tax accruals for review.
- Analyze personal property tax assessments and pay property tax bills.
- Setup and maintain valid sales tax exemption certificates in Vertex sales tax software.
- Assist tax manager on gathering information requested by auditors and conducting tax research.
- Providing company support by answering tax department emails regarding sales and use taxes relating to customer sales orders.
- Assist tax manager in ad hoc projects as they arise.
Job Requirements:
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field of study.
- 2-3 years general office experience.
- Planning and organization; candidate must have good time management and organizational skills, and be detail orientated.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of state and local sales tax or personal property tax regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office and strong Excel skills, including the use of VLOOKUP’s, Pivot tables and other advanced Excel functions
- Intuitive in learning new software and processes
- Strong verbal and written correspondence skills
- Oracle and Vertex experience a plus
