Navaera is looking for a highly talented and self-driven database development engineer who will be responsible for delivering projects heavy in complex, back-end database work using Microsoft SQL Server, versions 2014-2019. The selected candidate, who will lead a team of two other offshore SQL developers will also be responsible for optimizing in-application SQL statements as needed to ensure consistent end-user experience.

The selected engineer must have experience working directly with customers to gather and understand report and filter requirements, implement query changes in various software applications that include Navaera’s EnScreen ADX and EnView IMF solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, functions and stored procedures;
• Provide ad hoc reporting and analytics;
• Provide technical assistance to other departments to troubleshoot end-user issues;
• Leading a team of two offshore SQL developers;
• Implementing queries and scripts into applications, and validating that expected results are achieved; and
• Attending calls with end-users to discuss query issues, and to gather requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years programming experience in T-SQL required including the use of query tools such as SQL Server Management Studio or related tools;
• Full understanding of Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) concepts;
• Knowledge of relational databases configuration;
• Proficiency in creating functions, procedures and packages;
• Ability to tune for maximum performance;
• Ability to understand parallelism, execution plans, and other performance metrics;
• Experience in data preparation, data profiling, data cleansing, and data auditing;
• Ability to write technical documentation;
• Ability to translate project requirements into detailed system/program requirements, to include providing alternatives, recommendations and assistance to management;
• Excellent problem-solving skills;
• Experience with Atlassian BitBucket, Confluence, and JIRA
• Experience with Java, and Linux bash shell scripting is a strong plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $89,000.00 - $149,000.00 per year
