Responsibilities

The Technical Lead is an engineering lead that will provide leadership and vision to a team of 4 to 10 very talented software engineers with a breadth of specialties in machine vision, sensor fusion, software and hardware design and implementation, UxV prototyping, and product delivery. The position requires the ability to lead teams and mentor staff as the focal point of team development and direct technology development across the teams. The tech leader will need to be able to develop and lead proposal efforts for DARPA and other DoD agencies with SSCI support staff, and occasionally lead larger programs critical to group growth as necessary. The position is also the interface to other teams and divisions within the company to support collaboration and transition of technology into the products team.

Requirements

• PhD or MS +6 years experience in relevant technology area (machine vision, autonomy, sensor fusion, etc.)
• > 7 years experience in DoD related autonomy or perception work. Experience with scene analysis and or scene understanding
• Experience with Machine Vision; optical flow, visual inertial odometry, scene matching, or similar
• Demonstrated capability in proposal writing (SBIR/STTR phase I and II, or BAA)
• Experience working DARPA or Other DoD programs (> $1 million/ per year)
• Experience leading teams of researchers and engineers (> 3-5 team members)
• Strong communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) required

Preferred Skills

• SBIR/STTR experience is a plus
• Machine vision experience in visual navigation, stereo vision techniques, and reactive obstacle avoidance
• Strong software skills and familiarity with C++, Python, ROS, a plus
• A strong estimation background with Kalman or particle filters is highly desired
• Background with UAVs highly desired
